Emmy Vickers

Visionary & Founder, Seamstress, Author

Emmy Vickers has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years. In addition, she has been very passionate about volunteer work for most of her life. Due to health challenges beginning back in 2014, Ms. Vickers has had to change her path from being a national strategic networking advisor and trainer to something she can do from home with a less stressful schedule. Where did life lead her? Into the Arts!

Ms. Vickers rekindled her love and passion for photography. In the Summer of 2019, Emmy became an awarding-winning photographer in Montgomery County, Maryland. Her work placed 2nd and 3rd. In late 2019, wanting to do something to replace public speaking, Ms. Vickers officially became certified as a Voice Actor (aka Voice Over).

Then the Covid-19 Global Pandemic happened – who would have thought? Unprecedented times indeed!

As the COVID-19 global pandemic continues to engulf our world, Founder & Visionary, Emmy Vickers was longing to find a way to help people not only in her community, but other communities as well. In conjunction with coordinating the set-up of her business website with C. Sheltraw Graphic Design & Web Development organization, Emmy has been forming the philanthropic division of EmmysFaceMasks.com. Beginning with her own community first (White Oak, Four Corners, Hillandale, Colesville), Emmy has begun a grassroots effort in which these communities and others, help to sew masks for non-hospital front liners. Front liners such as staff at your local grocery stores; White Oak Physical Therapy and Hand Rehabilitation Center; women and men shelters, Alcoholics Anonymous Group Homes, and of course, the homeless as well as our Veterans’ shelters and others.

Emmy states, “during any kind of crisis, front liners are crucial. We as a community must come together to help those risking their lives for the sake of others. Emmy is grateful for the partnerships she is developing and looks forward to working with more people and organizations in order to successfully reach those in need of protecting themselves and others by wearing facemasks. Emmy’s goal is to mask more than 2,500 people in need.”

Involving family, friends and her own community over the last several months, Emmy has found that people really do want to help. “Folks like to know they are a part of something bigger than themselves and … making a difference,” she states.

In order to keep our communities safe and “masked-up,” Emmy also believes it takes a village! She expresses to the public, “it would be an honor to have you a part of our volunteer team and/or sponsor or partnership family. Also keep in mind, in order for us to reach our goal of making more than 2,500 hundred face masks for those in need, donations as well as in-kind gifts, are extremely crucial.”
